Women supporting
women through labor is an ageless tradition
common to all
cultures ...
Birth
Doula Services
A
childbirth assistant, or "birth doula", provides you and your family
with one-on-one, continuous care during your labor and birth.
This service often provides the nurturing attention and support that
traditional obstetrical care isn't always able to
provide.
A Doula's
presence during childbirth provides...
- valuable information,
emotional & physical comfort and encouragement
- a strong, unbiased
advocate for your birth plan
- continuous care &
support during your entire labor and birth
- guidance &
assistance with relaxation, breathing and positions
- assistance with
breastfeeding
Our
services include...
- unlimited, 24-hour a
day on-call support during entire pregnancy
- two prenatal sessions
to provide education & emotional support
- early labor support in
your home
- continuous active labor
support in your chosen birth setting
- early postpartum
support & care
- breastfeeding support
& consultation
- one or two postpartum
home visits
Imagine what might happen if the majority of women emerged
from their labor beds with a renewed sense of the strength and
power of their bodies and their capacity for ecstasy through
giving birth. When enough women realize that birth is a time of
great opportunity to get in touch with their true power, and then
they are willing to assume responsibility for this, we will
reclaim the power of birth and help move technology where it
belongs - in the service of birthing women, not as their
master.
~ Christiane Northrup, M.D.
